If you wake up every morning with itchy bites on your body, this could be many things. If you have a spouse that is sleeping right next to you, you are likely wondering why they also do not wake up with bites on them every morning. You may have other family members that are also not getting bit. Below are some reasons why this might be happening to you that you can consider so you can get started taking care of the problem.

Bed Bugs

The most obvious thing this could be is bed bugs; this is a clear option because you have new bites each morning. Bed-bug bites often cause small, red bumps that itch. You may also have red welts or swelling. In some cases, you may not notice any bites at all for several days. Bites may leave no marks at all, so a person would have no idea they were even bitten. If you have an allergic reaction to the bed-bug bites, you will have blisters on your skin with more distinct swelling. You may have multiple bites in one area of your skin, as several bed bugs may feed in the same area.

Look along the seams of your mattress to see whether you can see any bed bugs. Lift your mattress up and look underneath it. You may see tiny bloodstains on your mattress and sheets. Bed-bug waste looks like dark spots, and you may see empty shells from where they shed their skin.

Fleas

If you have animals, the problem could be fleas. You may not see any fleas on your animals, and you may not see any fleas in your home if you do not have a bad infestation of them. This does not mean you do not have them, however. If your pet scratches a lot, thoroughly check their fur. Fleas will run and hide from you, so you may not see them. Treat your animal with a flea treatment, and bomb your home with a flea bomb to see whether this helps.

Flea bites are small red bumps that are extremely itchy. They could be in your bed and biting you at night. It is possible that your spouse or other people in your home are not getting bit yet you are. You could be having an allergic reaction to the flea bites. If so, you will have small pimples, large areas of redness, and severe itching.

The best thing for you to do is to contact a pest-control company such as Suffolk Pest Control. This is the only way you can be sure whether you have bed bugs, fleas, or something else that is biting you. Once they determine what is biting you, they can take care of the problem for you.
